DetailsOriginal Lutheran hymnal (Gesangbuch) issued in 1883 for the Evangelical Lutheran State Church of the Kingdom of Saxony. This is an authentic 19th century German church book, not a modern reprint or later reproduction.
The book is bound in a black binding typical of late 19th century ecclesiastical editions, with gilt lettering on the front cover and spine. The page edges are gilt. A fabric ribbon bookmark is present.
At the beginning of the volume there is a printed religious illustration. The title page confirms official publication by the Evangelical Lutheran Church authorities in 1883 and bears an ecclesiastical stamp of the Evangelical Lutheran Consistory, indicating institutional church use.
Printed in traditional German Fraktur typeface. The paper shows natural age toning, foxing and minor marks consistent with age. The binding shows light edge wear and small signs of use, especially at the corners and spine, consistent with careful historical use.
The book is complete and intact. No modern restoration or rebinding is visible.
