DetailsOriginal antique German military garrison map titled “Garnisonsumgebungskarte Bautzen”, printed in Saxony before World War I, circa 1905–1914. This large folded map measures approximately 87 x 53 cm (34.3 x 20.9 inches) when fully opened and shows the region of Bautzen and surrounding areas including Dresden, Görlitz, Kamenz and Königswalde, with dense road, railway and settlement networks prepared for military and administrative use. Printed by the renowned security printer Giesecke & Devrient in Leipzig and Berlin, publisher to imperial German institutions. Scale 1:100,000. The map is printed on paper and mounted on original linen backing, designed for repeated folding and field use. Condition is authentic antique condition with visible fold lines, age toning, edge wear and minor stains consistent with age and use. No major tears or missing sections. A striking piece of early 20th century military cartography, ideal for collectors, historians or as atmospheric wall decor in an office, library or interior with vintage or industrial character.
